Dates
Confirmed
All of the most recent developments were reported at this meeting. The
August 8-10, 2003 weekend is absolutely official (I'm even running out
to purchase my plane tickets!). Friday, August 8, 2003 will be the alumni
golf tournament. It will be a fundraiser, all proceeds will go to the
extra-curricular groups at LHS. What a fun way to raise a little money!
Motorcycle
Ride
There is talk of motorcycle enthusiasts getting together for a little
morning ride on August 9, 2003. It is just in the "tossing around"
stage but sounds like a great time. If interested, contact me and I
will try to get all the riders together! (remember lisakauai@yahoo.com)
Gala
Event
Saturday evening, August 9, 2003, will be the gala. It will be held
at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Dress is black tie optional to
semi-formal. The music will be performed by The Joe Sharino Band. Time
to dust off those dancing shoes!
Family
Day
Sunday, August 10, 2003 our families will join together on the Lynbrook
High School campus. The Family Day event will be sponsored by the LHS
boosters. The day will combine family, food and games! our kids can
see where we spent our youth. We can take a walk back in time!
Go
freshen up your drink and stretch your legs, because as usual, there is
more!
Costs
The cost of the weekend has been decided! The Business Ops Committee
set a budget, considered costs and set the price for the reunion weekend
at $55 per person. This includes the Formal Evening on Saturday and
the Family Day on Sunday. The golf tournament is a fundraiser, therefore
will incur an additional cost. A Post Office box has been opened to
accept payments. The address will be made available shortly. Rick has
also set up a PayPal account for credit card payments. Watch for my
next message with more details.
We would like to
welcome Sheila Cabrinha Chestnutt (68) and Diane Graham Yamane (69)
to the committee. Diane will be working with the marketing/communications
committee and Sheila will be getting the Family Day event going!
We are still looking
for a Marketing Chairperson. Contact Rick
Figueroa on the reunion website if you're interested.
Of course, as always,
I am searching for alumni, looking for help. Send any info my way! Everyday
brings new classmates excited about this multi-class reunion. There
are many new contacts to add to the web site, watch for them. If you
know the whereabouts of any alumni, any class involved, have them register
on the web site or you can register them! It's EASY!!!
Okay, I could go
on and on, but only because I'm so darned excited about this event.
There are so many people I can't wait to see and many others I can't
wait to meet.
Until the next update,
keep safe, be happy and FIND ALUMNI!!!
