Greetings LHS alumni!
Summer is here
and the weather has been wonderful.The stock market is bouncing back
and the reunion is moving ahead. Ahhh, life is great.
As you know, the
committees are working hard in putting together the best reunion ever.
In the meantime we will make every effort in keeping our grads informed
of our progress. Below is a quick update from our invaluble Events Coordinator
Trish Kane.
Update
- August 3, 2002
We would like thank all the Lynbrook grads that are getting involved
with the reunion plans and to all those visiting our website. We will
continue to post important reunion information as it becomes available.
Please Note: The
August 10th General Session Meeting has been postponed to August 24th.
The time and location will be announced soon!
The Logistics and
Business Committees are working on several important items regarding
this event. We are addressing the issue of our event’s Non-Profit status
to better manage the receiving of donations and the distribution of
money to LHS. We are addressing the concern regarding insurance for
this event. We have a “hold” on the Santa Clara Convention Center for
August 9, 2003. We anticipate signing a contract and making the required
deposit by August 9, 2002. We cannot sign a contract with the SCCC prior
to one year out of the event. After careful review of facilities in
the San Jose area the SCCC was the best choice. It can handle a large
group, has the services we would require for this kind of event, free
and ample parking, and nearby hotels. These committees are also working
on the budget. This will determine the actual per person cost for the
event.
It is our intent
to publish a “Save the Date Card”, post on the websites, and e-mail
everyone possible all the information by the end of the month.
We are still looking
for people to represent their class! This means helping to get the word
out….you tell two friends, etc., etc.

New And Improved Web site!
I would like to welcome Randall Christensen class of 1970 to the communications
committee. Randy will be working with Lisa and me in expanding and developing
an improved website. We are excited about the new features, which will
include a gallery, mutimedia, and be more interactive. We hope to launch
sometime in September.
Lisa has asked for
all of you to please send in your pictures of now and then. A slide
show/video put to music is being made. You may send to lisakauai@yahoo.com.
Online Invitations!
We have developed an online invitation through Evite.com, which we will
be sending out in the near future. All Grads will be able to RSVP with
their guests name, send comments and pay their deposits through PayPal.
So please, it is important that you get your contact information to
us as soon as possible. You may e-mail to rfigueroa@lhsvikingsreunion.net
or to lisakauai@yahoo.com.
Mailings will go to those without e-mail addresses.

Well, as you can see, the committee has their work cut out for them.
Any ideas and suggestions, as well as, voluntary planning help are welcome!
Please check out the reunion site often and send your contributions…our
success depends on YOU! And finally…as always…my pitch for alumni contact
information…it wouldn’t be a proper ending without a plea from the reunion
