Activities Needing Help

Much has been accomplished, but so much more needs to be done. As such we are in need of any alumni who are willing to take leadership positions, work on committees, or take on specialty positions. If you are willing to donate a couple of hours (or more) per month, your assistance is needed.

This list will grow as new ideas are brought forward. If you have an idea for an activity or recognize a shot-coming that needs some assistance, please, don't just talk about the possibilities, come forward and assist. Email the webmaster with your contact information and what you would like to assist in.

The following are just some of the positions that need filling:

• Class Representatives
  Needs: Representatives for the classes of 1968, 1970, 1972 & 1976.
  These individuals are responsible for the searching out and contacting of their classmates. They are encouraged to get other individuals from their class to assist
  
  
• Marketing/Communications
  Chairmen: Rick Figueroa
  Needs: People to assist with advertising, publications, and other marketing needs.
  
  
• Gala Event
  Chairperson: Trish Kane
  Needs: Individuals for the committee to take on specific tasks such as decorating, menu, entertainment (other than the band), etc.
  
  
• Family Day
  Chairmen: Rob Karr
  Needs: More committee members to assist with the coordination of different ideas including sports (i.e.: Softball & Volleyball games), food catering, open house at LHS, and other activities. Proposed activities that need chairing:
  • Teacher Appreciation - responsible for inviting teachers to the family day activity. Organize the logistics and possibly a "Thank You Book" for each staff member that would be available for signing by Alumni who would like to leave messages to those teachers that made a difference in their lives.
  • Open House/Campus Tours
  • Sports activities
    • Volleyball
    • Softball
    • Field Hockey
    • Tug-of-war
  • Food
  • LHS Vikings Memorabilia Display
  • Alumni Classic Car Display
  • Entertainment - Music
    
    
• Friday Activities
  These are events that are not directly tied into the Gala or Family Day but possibilities for Fund raisers to assist groups and clubs and LHS
  
  • Golf Tournament
    Chairperson: Scott Hathaway
    Needs: Individuals for the committee, particularly those who have golf and/or tournament experience.
  • Motorcycle Poker Run (may include caravan from Midwest)
    Chairperson: Sampson Wolfe
    
    
    
• Basket Raffle
  Chairperson: Denise Camacho Hickok
